Copenhagen, 2014, Two Architects and a Carpenter
Moebe is a Danish design brand from Copenhagen, founded in 2014 by architects Martin de Neergaard Christensen and Nicholas Oldroyd together with carpenter Anders Thams. All three studied at the Cabinet-Maker School Copenhagen and the School of Architecture Aarhus. The name combines ‘Amoeba’ (for adaptability) and ‘Møbel’, the Danish word for furniture.

The design philosophy is ‘Doing more with less’: modular systems that can be repaired, grow with you and be extended. If a part breaks, only that part is replaced — not the whole product. All products come flat-packed, the cardboard packaging is recyclable.
