Moebe: Modular Design That Grows
Moebe
Copenhagen, 2014, Two Architects and a Carpenter
Moebe is a Danish design brand from Copenhagen, founded in 2014 by architects Martin de Neergaard Christensen and Nicholas Oldroyd together with carpenter Anders Thams. All three studied at the Cabinet-Maker School Copenhagen and the School of Architecture Aarhus. The name combines ‘Amoeba’ (for adaptability) and ‘Møbel’, the Danish word for furniture.
More from Less
The design philosophy is ‘Doing more with less’: modular systems that can be repaired, grow with you and be extended. If a part breaks, only that part is replaced — not the whole product. All products come flat-packed, the cardboard packaging is recyclable.
Shelving System, FRAME, Bed
The Shelving System — a shelf in solid wood and metal rods in various colours and configurations — is the best-known product and one of the world’s best-selling shelving systems in the design sector. Also available are the FRAME picture frame system and the bed. Moebe is listed in the Monocle Shop and distributed through premium retailers like twentytwentyone in London.
Danish Craftsmanship, Thought for the Long Term
Moebe thinks in product life cycles, not seasons. All parts can be individually reordered, the range remains consistent. Longevity here is a design principle, not a marketing statement.
Moebe x One Horizon
Danish furniture design that can be repaired and deliberately avoids disposal: that fits our range. If you’re looking for a shelf or picture frame that won’t be discarded after a season, you’ll find the right piece at Moebe.
