The Idea Came from a Bicycle
Notabag is a German bag brand from Frankfurt, founded in 2012 by Adnan Alicusic and Milanese fashion designer Ilaria Gregianin. The origin is concrete: in 2009, Alicusic narrowly avoided an accident on his bicycle because a heavily loaded shopping bag was hanging from the handlebars. He wanted a bag that can also be worn as a backpack.
Tote Bag and Backpack in One
With a single pull on the drawstring, the Notabag transforms from a tote bag into a backpack. Folded up, it fits in a trouser pocket. The principle is patented. The German Design Award 2016 in the Excellent Product Design category confirmed it: this is not a gimmick, but genuine product design.
100% rPET
All Notabag products are made from 100% recycled PET polyester. Sustainability was part of the brand DNA from the start, not a later addition. The range also includes a crossbody variant.
