For the Artist Edition, Notabag invites illustrators to use the bag as a canvas. The result is seven designs that wrap around the entire surface and extend across the seam, rather than being printed as a label.

The Seven Designs

  • Judit Canela: Playground and Roots, playful shapes in bold colors.
  • Mireia: Landscape, a graphically simplified landscape.
  • Other designs: Flow, Geoplay, Fruit Salad, and Tour de France.

Technically, the well-known Notabag

Just pull on the handles, and the tote bag turns into a backpack—leaving your hands free. The mechanism is patented and requires neither clips nor knots. When open, the bag measures 45 × 65 cm, including the handles.

15 kilograms at 140 grams

The ripstop fabric can hold a whole week’s worth of groceries. When folded up, the bag fits inside the sewn-in pouch measuring 15.5 × 13 cm, which can’t get lost.

Limited Edition

Artist Editions are produced in limited quantities and are generally not reprinted. Once a design is sold out, it usually does not return.

Who created the designs for the Notabag Artist Edition?

Judit Canela contributes "Playground" and "Roots," while Mireia contributes the "Landscape" motif. These are joined by "Flow," "Geoplay," "Fruit Salad," and "Tour de France."

Are the Artist Editions limited editions?

Yes, Notabag produces them in limited editions and generally does not reissue them. Designs that are sold out usually do not come back.

Is the Artist Edition technically different from the solid-color Notabag?

No. The same ripstop polyester, 45 × 65 cm when open, with a load capacity of up to 15 kg, a weight of 140 g, and the same sewn-on stuff sack.

How does a bag turn into a backpack?

You pull the two handles apart. They shorten to become shoulder straps, and the edge of the bag contracts. The mechanism is patented.

Will the design still be visible when the bag is folded?

Yes. The patterns cover the entire surface, which is why even the folded bag, measuring 15.5 × 13 cm, shows a portion of the design.
