Rope, Design and a Childhood on Milos

Peppermint Products is a German design brand, founded in 2012 by Roman Luyken and Nina Nikolaus near Munich. Luyken studied in Great Britain, is a passionate regatta sailor and spent parts of his childhood on the Greek island of Milos. The hours of working with ropes on the boat became the design inspiration. The first product: the Rope Hanger, a clothes hanger made from galvanised steel wire with hand-braided PP rope. It leaves no pressure marks and ages well.

Design with an Attitude

Peppermint Products follows four design principles: functionality, aesthetics, innovation and sustainability. Roman Luyken designs objects that solve a problem while making no fuss about it. The collection includes clothes hangers, home accessories and suspension systems in steel and PP rope.

Made in Germany, Social Production

The rope products are made in a state-supported Berlin social workshop for people with special needs. The packaging is 100% ecological. The supply chain and production are short and transparent.

Objects that Stay

Peppermint Products pieces don’t go out of fashion after a season. The wire clothes hangers have been unchanged since their introduction, because the design was right from the start.
