DesignBite: Danish Design for the Table
Big Hug Wine Rack
The DesignBite Big Hug wine rack in midnight blue stores wine bottles on the wall to save space. Two shelves made of powder-coated steel with a protective cork layer – minimalist, stable and assembled in just a few minutes.
DesignBite
Scandinavian Design with an International Biography
DesignBite was born from the collaboration between Hans Thyge Raunkjær and Taiwanese design entrepreneur Michael Hsiao. Raunkjær founded his studio Hans Thyge & Co. in 1990 in Norsminde, a small fishing village on the Danish east coast. Before this, he spent seven years working with the legendary Memphis Group in Milan under Ettore Sottsass: clarity, courage in form, no half measures.
Everyday Helpers with Design Ambition
DesignBite products are everyday helpers with design ambition. The BIG HUG napkin holder in robust steel, double-sided serving trays, cake stands and serving trolleys from the BIG Pieces collection: each piece combines function with an aesthetic that stands out without imposing. Materials: powder-coated metal, oak, cork, ceramic, canvas.
Creative, Unconventional, Ahead of the Curve
The team behind DesignBite describes itself as ‘creative, enthusiastic, unconventional and ahead of the times’. This shows in the range: objects that can be used for various occasions, from kitchen to terrace.
Danish Design, Consistently Thought Through
The combination of Danish design tradition and Taiwanese production know-how makes DesignBite a brand with its own identity. The products are clear, timeless and have the right weight — in both the literal and the design sense.
DesignBite x One Horizon
At One Horizon, we carry DesignBite because Scandinavian design with a solid biography and genuine craftsmanship fits our range. The products work in everyday life and enhance kitchen and table without pushing themselves to the fore.
