Never lose your keys again: Chipolo Tracker or AirTag on the Orbitkey Key Organizer
If you never want to have to search for your keys again with Orbitkey, you have two options: the Chipolo x Orbitkey Tracker V2, which fits into the key organizer just like a key and works with iPhone and Android devices via the Chipolo app, or an Apple AirTag in the Orbitkey AirTag Case attached to the D-ring, which can be located via Apple’s Find My network. The Chipolo sits inside the stack and rings your phone at the push of a button, while the AirTag hangs on the outside and can locate your keys even when your phone is far away. You can find out here which solution suits which phone and which habits, along with the dimensions, battery life, and limitations of both systems. Both are available on the Orbitkey brand page.
Chipolo x Orbitkey Tracker V2: The Tracker That Fits Right Into the Stack
The Chipolo x Orbitkey Tracker V2 is a Bluetooth tracker shaped like a key: 65 mm long, 24.5 mm wide, 7 mm thick, weighing about 28 g, and made of ABS plastic. It has a hole like a key and is threaded onto the shaft of the key organizer in the same way, without blocking the D-ring. If you prefer to attach it to a bag or backpack, use the included leather tassel and elastic strap. It uses a CR1632 button cell battery; the app alerts you when the battery is running low, and replacement requires no tools.
The free Chipolo app works on iOS and Android, which is a practical advantage over the AirTag in households with devices from both platforms. Three everyday uses: You can make the tracker ring via the app when your keys are somewhere in your apartment. Press the button on the tracker, and your phone will ring—even in silent mode—a feature you’ll find yourself using more often than you’d think. And the button also triggers the camera shutter in the Chipolo app, perfect for group photos without a self-timer. The range is limited to Bluetooth—so your apartment, the office, or your car. It’s not the right tool for keys you’ve left on a train.

AirTag in the Orbitkey AirTag Case: the Apple network on the D-ring
The Orbitkey AirTag Case is a compact snap-on case made of TPU with a hardened 304 stainless steel ring; it is 51 mm long, 36 mm wide, and 9 mm thick. The AirTag is not included. The case is intentionally designed to be open: any engraving on the AirTag remains visible, and the case doesn’t add bulk. It attaches via the open key ring to the D-ring of the Key Organizer or directly to your keychain. An AirTag does not fit inside the key stack itself—it is too thick for that. The leather case for the AirTag with a snap closure is currently not available in any color.
What sets the AirTag apart from the Chipolo: According to Apple, any nearby iPhone participating in the Find My network can locate it—anonymously and securely—without your own phone needing to be nearby. A keychain left behind at a restaurant will thus appear on the map without your phone needing to be within Bluetooth range. The downside: The AirTag requires an iPhone; it cannot be set up with an Android device. According to Apple, the battery is a CR2032, which you can replace yourself.

The rule of thumb: If you have an iPhone and want to be able to find your keys even when you’re away from home, go with the AirTag in its case. If you use Android, misplace your phone more often than your keys, or want to keep the tracker hidden in your pile of items, go with the Chipolo. Using both together isn’t a contradiction: put the Chipolo in the pile and the AirTag on the D-ring—that way, your keychain is covered from both sides.
Here’s how to attach the tracker to the key organizer correctly
You attach the Chipolo just like you would a key: Loosen the screw, slide the tracker over the shaft with the hole aligned, insert the washers, and tighten the screw again until the stack clicks into place with slight resistance. It counts as one of the 2 to 7 keys on the Key Organizer Leather and Active models, or 3 to 9 on the Key Organizer Pro. It’s best to place the tracker on the very outside so the button is exposed and you can reach it without opening the stack.
The AirTag Case attaches to the D-ring. If you often separate your keychain—for example, when handing over your car keys—you can insert the Orbitkey Ring V2 with a quick-release clasp between them. The Clip V2, with its magnetic Fidlock clasp, holds the entire organizer—tracker and all—to your belt or bag.

What else Orbitkey has that we don’t yet
Orbitkey recently introduced a Universal Tracker that, according to the manufacturer, works with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, charges via a USB-C magnetic cable, lasts three to five months on a single charge, and is IP65-rated for water and dust resistance. It is not yet available at One Horizon. Anyone currently using Android who still wants a network connection instead of just Bluetooth will have to wait for it or use the Chipolo as a temporary solution. As soon as the Universal Tracker is available here, we’ll update this article.
Frequently Asked Questions About Orbitkey and Key Trackers
Does an AirTag fit in the Orbitkey Key Organizer?
Don’t put it in the key stack—the AirTag is too thick for that. Instead, attach it to the D-ring at the bottom of the organizer using the Orbitkey AirTag Case, or attach it directly to your keychain. The case measures 51 × 36 × 9 mm and is made of TPU with a ring of hardened 304 stainless steel.
Does the Chipolo x Orbitkey tracker work with Android?
Yes. The free Chipolo app is available for iOS and Android. The tracker connects to your phone via Bluetooth, can be made to ring using the app, and can make your phone ring with the push of a button—even in silent mode.
What is the range of the Chipolo Tracker?
As far as Bluetooth can reach—to your own phone, whether you’re at home, in the office, or in your car. For keys you’ve left behind while out and about, an AirTag paired with the Apple Find My network is the better option, because other iPhones report its location.
How do I replace the battery in the Chipolo Tracker?
No tools required. The app notifies you when the CR1632 button cell battery is running low. Open the case, replace the battery, and close it. The CR1632 is a standard button cell battery available at electronics stores.
Is the AirTag included in the Orbitkey AirTag Case?
No. The case is just the cover with a keyring; the Apple AirTag is sold separately. The case has an open design, so any engraving on the AirTag remains visible.
Can I use Chipolo and AirTag at the same time with Orbitkey?
Yes. The Chipolo is in your keychain, and the AirTag case is attached to the D-ring. That way, you’re covered via Bluetooth at home and via the Apple network when you’re out and about. The Chipolo counts as one key toward your capacity.
The Keychain That Tells You When It’s There
An Orbitkey stops the rattling; a tracker stops the searching. Trackers, cases, and all organizers can be found in the Carry Essentials category.
