Paper Without Trees: Karst’s hardcover notebook is made from ground limestone instead of wood fiber. The result is smoother to write on than usual, doesn’t absorb moisture, and doesn’t tear.
Stone paper instead of pulp
The blocks are made from recycled limestone and construction waste, bound with a small amount of plastic. Their production requires neither trees, bleaching agents, nor water.
- Waterproof: The cover and pages don’t absorb moisture. Spilled coffee can be easily wiped away.
- Tear-resistant: The material cannot be torn like paper.
- Acid-free and bright white: The ink does not bleed through to the back.
- Cradle to Cradle Silver: The stone paper is certified and recyclable.
5-mm dot grid
The dot grid provides structure without overwhelming the page. It works equally well for running text, sketches, tables, and bullet journaling. In this version, the dots are spaced 5 mm apart.
Equipment
- Thread-sewn binding: The book lies flat when opened, even on the first and last pages.
- Back pocket: Folds out, for loose papers, receipts, and cards.
- Elastic band and bookmark ribbon: The ribbon has a heat-sealed tip and won’t fray.
- Rounded corners: The cover won’t snag inside the bag.
