Cold-rolled wire has a property that this keychain takes advantage of: it springs back. That’s exactly what creates the clasp—no hinge, no spring, no screw.
A wire, a clasp
The ring is formed from 3.2 mm-thick wire. The overlap is held together by the material’s internal tension, but can be pressed open with your thumb. Keys slide right in without having to force a fingernail into a snap ring.
